>at least for hosting theres plenty of "free speech" hosts
Someone already forgot what happened to 8ch over not taking down the NZ mass shooting video. It literally went the way the other anon described - every webhost got squeezed by their payment processors, and chose to hold on to their other clients instead of 8ch.
The only places you are "free" in today's world are at the very top and the very bottom of the chain. At the top, you have the $/power/connections to have your "lifestyle choices" ignored. At the bottom, no one cares about you. In the middle, you're only "free" until you draw attention to yourself. Someone can easily ruin you - yes, you specifically - by making you defend yourself against manufactured claims in court (Hulk Hogan vs Gawker). Never mind the myriad little laws you specifically have actually, credibly broken, with or without your knowledge.
Payment processors only care about $, and porn has the highest chargeback rates, so they will always look to tighten the screws on porn and adjacent content. Doesn't matter whether they're telling liberal governments to "think of the children" or appealing to the "ban porn" stance of conservative ones, it's all about the bottom line. Which is going to shrink the amount/quality of porn games due to profit-seeking enterprises dipping out. Passion projects are nice, sure, but there will be a lot less content overall.
