three-part post is crazy. but anyway, i meant to also say that due to "stroke" (outline) being objectively more legible than "drop shadow" (even though i prefer the latter) along with me going for "stroke" now anyway since changing fonts, i retroactively removed the "drop shadow" versions of my captions from my catbox album, and swapped them around in my rentry so the "stroke" version is the one on the left, so you'd read it first:

i also meant to say that the font i switched to having lowercase letters drives the character density i'm afforded up by a lot for the same font size. were it all capitals "wild words" would actually be denser, but when using lowercase letters "pally" wins no contest. it's kind of a double-edged sword, because i was trying to keep the proportions of the font the same across all image resolutions and aspect ratios, so now i have way more opportunity to yap in captions than before. but i'll see how it goes
