Corruption as messy as it is so much better defined, it makes sense to define purification as the opposite of that. Corruption comes in puppy kicking and more tame just confident and sexy varieties, the common trait is visual similarity. Feels a little off to reduce it to just a costume, but without latex, demon horns, or scary looking eyes, it's not corruption, it's just a character deciding to do villainous things or just mind control. The same should be true for purification. A character could decide on their own or be mind controlled to do heroic things, but without the "costume" of purity, it doesn't count.

I'd steal a cleaner definition from somewhere else, but nowhere seems to have one I find satisfying.
