I mean, makes sense. The suffering is normal for them. It hurts, sure, but they wouldn't have expected or hoped for anything different. Like how a pet looks at you when you catch it misbehaving. What else can she do but accept and wait for what she knows is coming? Really, she'd just be confused if you didn't punish her.
The inane giggling is my favorite part, though. She's been pushed so far past despair that it's looped around to a horrid rapturous euphoria. It's mindless, joyless, helpless. She's given up. Any semblance of being a thinking person has been peeled away. So what else can she do?
