Tbh, being reseted to level 1 by a random elite enemy or boss and having to run away to grind again seems very annoying, and if the enemies hit random targets, it is going to wreck your team composition every dungeon at least once (ie, you lose your healer).

But I do like to see characters reacting to surprise transformations more than consensual transformations, so I do find the idea somewhat appealing.

Definitely would recommend making it so the transformations become unlocked at a certain point and so the player can predict and prevent what transformations with proper planning though.
