The volume the motor takes up is the determining factor in my selection. Max torque per volume taken with cap on total volume afforded being hard set. Also the motor had to be commodity level produced with enough sales volume to give economies of scale and make it affordable. Also had to be inrunner style for ease of use and cooling and mounting considerations in my design.
