>Preferably not $500 or whatever
If youre getting into boots it will be beneficial to start thinking about them in a similar category as phones and other big purchases. For phones, if you want an actually good phone from a good brand (apple, google, samsung, whoever makes good phones), most people accept you are looking at a ~$1000 purchase give or take a few hundred. Sure, you can get a $200 phone that works and can send messages and use apps, but you will notice the quality difference compared to an iPhone and so will other people. When it comes to boots, yes if youre used to buying shoes for $80 then $500 seems like a lot, but its actually not when you understand what youre buying. 300 is about the absolute lowest you can possibly go and get a boot still considered good and not the phone equivilent of a burner. For example Oak Street Bootmakers is currently selling their Storm Boot for 50% off (650 down to 325). This is an example of the cheapest decent boot you should be looking at. Otherwise, the low end of “actually good boots” is going to be something like Redwing, which usually is $400 for the type of boot youre looking for.
