I had this in the very beginning but you quickly get used to your chosen deficit.
I find my ability for sustained cognitive loads (eg. a job that requires you to think or pay attention all day) is severely impacted if I don't sleep at least 7 hours a night, and has very little to do with how much I eat, compounding sleep debt over the course of a week with little sleep (5 hours or less) would become noticeable after 4-5 days and leave me cognitively exhausted by the end of the week.
Food doesn't help at all, only sleep fixes it.
