Synthetic linings became the standard at all price points because they are so immeasurably better than natural fibres in basically every single regard, while being 3-5 times less expensive. That means more durable, slips on easier, regulates heat better, longer lasting, anti-static, anti-microbial, easier to launder etc.

The only people not using synthetic linings are designers with an extreme aversion to using any synthetics whatsoever. However you should know full well that when they use something like cotton or silk you are getting an inferior lining. You're getting something that's heavier, won't last as long, will cling to B.O. easier, is harder to put on, won't be as durable, and will be much more expensive.

This is one of those things like plastic buttons that everyone regardless of price point and ethos has basically moved on to. The natural equivalents are just so much more expensive and so much more inferior it makes zero sense.

Also you should know there's different grades and mills when it comes to synthetic linings. Rayon and Cupro are both semi-synthetics, one uses cotton and the other wood pulp. So there is variance in quality. There's mills in India making it as cheap as possible and there's mills in Japan trying to push the quality as high as possible for bespoke suiting. That visvim coat will not have the same Rayon quality as an H&M Rayon lining, I can guarantee you that.
