Im lifting for 15years and benching above 3pl for 3-5 reps, my lower back and shoulders never had any issues. I have no idea how can you even injure your lower back bench pressing.
Actually using your whole body during bench, especially engaging leg drive and lats is the most safe and correct way to bench.
