investing in gecko engine is a literal waste of time, nobody has the resources to actually develop it, once mozilla dies, and they will especially if google loses chrome and they lose the google deal, then it's over. there's not a single organization who can fund it's development and make money or think its a wise investment. the sane approach is to give up on gecko and just make a proper chromium fork that keeps upstream but strips the cancer out, like ungoogled chromium
