wrong. windows volume control in shared mode is digital. it applies attenuation in the audio engine before the dac ever sees the signal. windows doesn’t ‘tell the dac to turn down’ unless the dac exposes hardware volume controls, which most don’t. enjoy your 8-bit audio at 4% windows volume, champ
