The CPU from my 15 year old Dell is still more than sufficient for dev work. What's insufficient is its RAM capacity. My framework uses 1x48GB stick and I'm sure it's going to be fine for the next 15 years. When it becomes insufficient, I'll just buy another and it'll probably be fine for as long as the rest of the components hold up... and I can replace those when THEY break, including the battery. Framework is based, you're just racist.
