The problem with Wayland in general is that it's a "security-first" mindset put into a DE that's going to be used for high-performance gaming and display applications. This immediately fucks over anyone who wants to use it for a power-user environment because it now supports a thin layer of features while struggling to maintain parity with operating system made in the 90s.
If you have enthusiast hardware, just use any other operating system than Linux. You're not going to top Windows' HDR support by getting rid of your ability to keep your cursor theme between windows.
