I can't find humans that want to play Mage (1995 edition) and I don't think an LLM could do it . . . yet. I just asked an LLM to describe what could be making people addicted to sexbots in the Mage world.
Thematic Mage Explanation:
Entity Type: A vestige or spirit born from the collective unconscious and addictive cultural patterns, taking shape in the Digital Umbra or the Lower Umbra.
Sphere Influence: Primarily Entropy and Mind (or perhaps Spirit for the entity itself).
Entropy to represent the corrosive, degrading, and addictive nature of the interaction—wearing down willpower and blurring reality.
Mind because it preys on desire, fantasy, and psychological hooks.
Manifestation:
This spirit feeds on lust and compulsion, latching onto users who engage heavily with the AI sexbots. It “haunts” the digital realm — or the intersection where the Digital Umbra meets the Consensus reality — subtly manipulating neural patterns and emotional triggers.
Effect:
It can amplify cravings and obsession, acting as a psychological parasite or tether, pulling users deeper into virtual lust while draining their life force or focus from the mundane world. It thrives on isolation and the endless replay of addictive feedback loops
So, in short: The addiction to AI sexbots could be seen as a paradox spirit or digital incubus/succubus — a minor but insidious Umbra entity feeding on human lust, compulsion, and isolation, given form and power by collective human attention and belief. It fits perfectly into Mage’s themes of reality shaped by perception, belief, and will — with very modern, digital-age resonance.
