Well the old iSeries thinkpads were made by acer and they were just objectively poorly made machines with low quality and low spec hardware inside, one of IBM’s attempts to sell consumer machines under their enterprise brand name to schools and small businesses.
These were/are worse than even the worst years of the E series.
