155U, not H? The graphics on the EliteBook are way better, and the multi core performance (compiling) is too, with better power efficiency at load. EliteBooks and ProBooks are good, as long as you don't get that dog shit "Sure View" privacy display which ruins the viewing angles and colors even when you're looking at the screen straight on. You can check the laptop's config with the serial number, or notice the defective-looking screen in pictures.
IIRC both models had replaceable RAM so you could look into getting them with less RAM and upgrading them. Also, remember to check the refresh for that AMD CPU (8840U) and the higher limit versions (7840H/HS, 8840H/HS)
