not really... i know a lot of stories of priest just abusing the youth for then the children getting scolded or punished for speaking ill of the good old man, priests getting women pregnant or having multiple wives outside marriage in "secret", a lot of people blindly giving the little money they had "to the poor or the church" as the priest just got richer and richer driving to preach in a luxury car
These are not internet stories but stories i heard directly from boomers complaining about their "best generation" parents

Expecting someone to care for you at your old age is always a bad bet, the world is getting harder and harder to live in with every year that passes no matter where you live, that is without considering only few children are raised well enough to actually care for their parents at old age, a child is not a retirement plan
