Nowhere does it mention a 12 month reprieve or any hard enforcement deadlines.
Nor does the actual DSA require strict age verification. In fact - article 28.3 very strictly says platforms cannot be obliged to do it, if they don't already have the necessary personal data to do it on hand.
Strict age verification is only something that the Commission's own guidelines - which are in fact not law - make mention of; and then only in the context of a risk assessment having taken place which illustrate a high risk of minors being confronted with 18+ material.

The EU Commission's guidelines actually do state platforms should disallow access to AI chats for minors, considering their unpredictible nature and lack of actual moral compass in AI too big a risk.
