Anyway I saved picrel from a while ago and from what other experts are saying online when WEBP was first released around 2010 it wiped the floor with the old jpeg turbo encoder. However modern jpeg encoder have gotten better and no longer rape images with excessive blocky artefacting and the compression efficiency gains of WEBP are no longer worth the loss of compatibility anymore.
