Some will. Not too many. You have to understand, people that like on reddit (and /g to a large extent) are legitimately stupid. They surround themselves in "tech" and discussions about tech because it makes them feel smarter than they really are. If you paid attention to crypto stuff or NFTs, it was the same thing - it attracted brainlets who love to pretend they're super smart because by participating in tech discussions they feel smart-adjacent. By clicking on "APPS!!" and remembering a huge bitcoin address, clearly they're the reincarnation of Dennis Ritchie.

Windows users, especially boomers (the real kind) are exactly that. They don't actually understand how telemetry/AI/screen-scraping of your activity affects them because it is completely SILENT. They're quite literally not capable of putting two and two together to see how they are being violated. Like animals, if you cannot put big screaming danger right in front of them, they cannot see or understand it.

So they'll bitch and moan, but they'll take it right up the ass like they always do. There will be a Linux spike, but it's not like it's going to halve the Windows user base. Hoard hardware. By the time it stops being sold, you can probably make what you have last 20 years.
