I'm at 4x and can follow along just fine. It's not ADHD by the way. It's actually a sign of intelligence and a want for higher information density. Usually it means you should read intellectual books instead of watching anime, or at the very least watch deeper anime. That said most default players have custom config files that you can change to default to 2x speed. Otherwise use stremio
