Honestly I can get with the audiophile aesthetic.
Everything is hilariously overbuilt, kinda like how custom PC watercooling will make reservoirs and blocks with thick enough acrylic to stop bullets, or make metal fittings that are 10x stronger than they ever need to be.

I don't need a 10 gauge IEC cable, but damn if the gold plated connectors and beefy plugs don't make me feel better.
I don't need a braided ethernet cable that is 2GHz/40Gbps rated with field serviceable Rj45 connectors but it makes you feel like your plugging in something proper.

It does feel like audiophile stuff can sometimes (emphasis on sometimes) be an antithesis to the bottom barrel constriction of most modern devices.
