- companies selling open source software make bank by selling support contracts, which are mandated by insurance companies' cybersecurity policies
- Microsoft's position has been "won" by using monopolistic tactics, not by innovation
- Apple has _never_ innovated, only refined existing concepts, and it's current stranglehold on mobile devices has been won mostly by positioning itself as a luxury brand. The most it can claim is releasing products at the right time (iPod)
- as true as "free software is bug-ridden" is, so is proprietary software, especially when you mix indian programmers into the mix
