That’s a good look for them.
Nobody wants to run any internet tech in that country already.
This makes it even worse.
In fact, local companies are probably so regulated there they can’t operate internet businesses for other reasons already.
This is a way “tax” foreign entities who might comply voluntarily.
Canada tried this too, which ultimately failed under threat of retaliation… I can’t remember what their rationale for taxing all the internet companies in the US was though.
