Having implemented several visual programming languages, let me assure you they take a shitload more effort to create than, say, a Lisp implementation. (Unless you're just doing shit like >>106896852 that doesn't really add anything useful at all; there's no visual binding of symbols at all except for the parenthesis structure.)
Almost everyone who tries to do visual programming is likely to be better served by just writing Python or C++ or some other conventional programming language. Yes, it's not graphical. Boo fucking hoo. It works better that way.

I feel the same way about workflow systems too. Piles of junk and all I've ever done with them has just added to the goddamn piles.
