I have a 2016 pc with a 1070, some kind of i7 processor, a 750 watt power supply, 16 gigs of ddr3 ram, all on an MSI z97 pc mate motherboard.

What would be a good upgrade? I can spend $2,000 and I live in America.
I was reading these threads and a comment made me think, it went along the lines of, "they don't even know what to do with or need all of the fancy new stuff" and it got me thinking. I don't program, I don't render or do art or editing. I just watch YouTube and play games and shitpost. And it's not like I need to see the sweat in nigger spiderman's face with 1100% more anti-ailiasing or 900% more accurate God rays.
I play total war and indie games. I think the most demanding fame I've played is warhammer 2 or doom eternal. All perfectly fine with what I have on my 2k Acer monitor.
So maybe I don't need to spend $2000 unless it will future proof me for a good long while. Of course a 5070 ti sounds nice... but that's like half of the budget.

I only ask because that pc I listed won't display. I'm trying to fix it but I don't know what the problem is. It shows all signs of life, the monitor works... I don't know what changed since I changed rhe thermal paste (for the first time...)
