I just had a thought. If non-conductive paste or any soft material can be put inside of a socket and not impede the function of the CPU, why not fill that socket with some kind of soft insulator padding then? A rubber or silicone like substance that can compress a little to conform to the pins bending under mounting pressure, but firm enough that it works as essentially an anti-pin-bending gel. Then if anything falls inside the socket it can be easily cleaned out without worrying about pin damage besides the exposed tips.
