2.5D now has such strong association with shitty AIslop that I just can't like it anymore at all. And I realize that it does have its strengths.
When it comes to weaker expressions and samefaces, I'd guess it's because all those merges have incestual intermixing, they probably all come from same realistic models mixed in - same as basilmix being the base for like 90% of realistic 1.5 merges. And merges always reduce the strength of tags, including the expressions
