Abolitionism was a meme started by anti-democrat northerners as a "fuck you" for the war of 1812. It was purely political.
If you want to worship white people for saving you you should know the people that invented abolitionism in the US literally worshiped blacks and paid for them to be round them at all times like trained monkeys so they could feel better about themselves
real freaks, this movement however was of course used by the north to increase factionalism and push for the civil war. I don't think at any point in history anybody in the US actually stopped to consider the black. They're nearly 100% irrelevant
