This very important verse I coul not remember but now I do:

"When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. " (Acts 1:6-7)

Anybody saying Jesus implied the kinddom was determined to happen immediately, specially in light of what He says about the preaching of the gospel to the world as a prerequisite, is disregarding the reality that it depended on the Father's will according to the state of repentance of Israel collectively. The Messiah was rejected twice and the kingdom was thus postponed.
