I don't know everything about it but I think it came about because of America having a trade embargo on Nazi Germany so they couldn't get the ingredients to make cola, so they came up with Fanta. Coke must've bought the company after the war or something. You'd think they'd need a rebrand but they kept the same name and presumably the recipe despite it being created by Nazis.
