Everything is translated nowadays. Sure there may be obscure visual novels no one heard of you can read, this isnt enough to maintain learning the hardest language in the world.
I know you know Japanese, Im pretty sure you said you lived in Japan at one point. Which explains your drive. If it was just for otaku interests, people will drop it someday. Its an incredible amount of effort to not forget Japanese.
Although if you lived in Japan, learned Japanese with that, it will stick way better
