>If not, is there a recommended break-in procedure for new magazines?

Yeah the same as for every other sticky by mag, take it apart and de-burr the follower or just load and unload, or just use a dowel to work it up and down. I had the same issue with a couple .44mag magazines I had, its just shitty plastic overflash impeding travel. Promag sucks btw mine won’t even feed properly no matter how much tweaking you do.

Good to know that can actually happen, that’s pretty wild.

I was paranoid and bought an additional gas piston that lives in the ammo case for the day this would happen and it still hasn’t in a like 2,500 rounds of mostly .357 mag, it’s pitted and worn but still going strong.

Quite a bit, makes .357 mag feel like 9mm but it also peels the jacket off rounds like an apple peel and sprays them out of the vents, so shoot outside. Also depending on if there’s a structure overhead, may make your ears hurt a bit if the sound is reflected back down at you, even through muffs and plugs. It’s fine outside though.
