I think the real problem is that the firing pin just floats around and is only somewhat safe due to there not being enough inertia to overcome the spring pressure unless a fully cocked hammer drops on it. If the gun's dropped from hip height, I'm not confident that the hammer even needs to fall for it to go off. Especially if there's an extended firing pin and lighter springs installed like all the fancy prancy spandex wearing IPSC shooters tend to do.
