On topic of gun control: there is already a country with severely draconian gun laws: Brazil.

Blank guns? Banned.
Ammo casings? Regulated, can't even take some from a shooting range.
They have nailgun blanks that are made the same as live .22 though, so that's a bonus.
Here in Russia it's not so grim but they're coming for it slowly but steadily. They will regulate ammo casings soon enough.
