Though the Leman Russ has comparable weapons and frontal armor to the Abrams, it was designed as an infantry support weapon more akin to the Booker and its sensors aren't up to the task of getting the important first strike against a true MBT. For that, you want something like the Dorn or Macharius which are meant for tank hunting.
