It's all mental. AMABs are treated as inhuman by default, AFABs are treated as precious angles by default. This makes AMABs by and large have to fight for every gram of praise or empathy they receive, and it's only ever a few grams at a time no matter what they've accomplished, yet the bar for what counts as accomplishment keeps raising throughout their entire life.
Meanwhile AFABs never have to fight for anything regarding humane treatment and can sit back chilling being a neet with zero consequences for 99% of their lives. This means they never have any drive to succeed and thus never develop any skills, or even the skill of being able to acquire a new skill, or even the interest in having an interest in literally anything.
Because AMABs and AFABs are really just both humans, and humans are really just social animals that adapt to our environment to best trigger positive survival indicators (social acceptance, resource security, creation of offspring), they diverge an insane amount because of how different the environments they adapt to are and how those environments deliver survival indicators. As it stands, AFABs have no actual incentive to become skilled or interesting people because everything they need to survive is handed to them without question, but AMABs can only hope to survive by being skilled and useful throughout their biological runtime.
