I think Eye gets dragged a bit because it was written before Jordan was able to expand the series and there are some things that stick out, plus each of the next five books are better than the one before it, making Eye seem weak in comparison. But I love it and I think it really shines on a reread where you can spot the foreshadowing and understand some mysteries with the context of the rest of the series.
