I also want to add, that a positive aspect of the book, is how everyone is mostly sensible. They use reason and logic for most things. Even if their reason is sometimes flawed, you can still understand why they think the way they do. For the first characters who are unreasonable, it's immediately recognized by other characters, and they react appropriately when confronted by unreasonable people.
I was afraid near the beginning of the book that they were about to set up an annoying dynamic, where there's a whole huge misunderstanding between two characters. But it didn't go that way. The author knew what he was doing.
