Anime is popular with everyone, trannies are just really vocal about it.
Anime/furries are just examples of idealization. For transgenders it's easy to draw an "ideal" version of themselves, as do many cis people in those styles. A lot of people's anime OCs are overpowered ultra handsome for that reason, and likewise many fursonas are also idealized versions of the individual, often being more powerful, confident, sexually active, stronger, more handsome, etc than the creator. The furry/anime connection is insane.
