With political debates, what I often find myself disagreeing with before anything else is not even the surface level claims, like whether a particular thing is one way or another, but the presuppositions on which the question itself depends. Like if somebody asked you whether you think flowers smell blue or red, wouldn't the correct response to such a question be to say that there is no such thing as something smelling blue or red instead of saying either blue or red?
