My writing has taken an interesting turn in these last few months and I don't know how to rectify it. Whenever I sit down to do prose I always seem to end up either writing an essay on the subject at hand, or an essentially Platonic dialogue involving two or more characters. The actual prose seems to come only as an afterthought. I have written about 20,000 words of essay/dialogue punctuated only with the vaguest of details. I never used to have this problem. Any idea what's going on?
