What's the point of basing this show on a moment from the original show when that moment didn't even play out like this? It was completely made up.
I mean having it be a parallel universe with a changed key event is interesting. But then in end it was all about Lalah that rejected her own universe. But that is not the Lalah from the original show. That Lalah died. This show makes up a grief-stricken Lalah that didn't exist. It's like I make a movie where Hitler wins WW2 because a timetraveller makes him do it because England was nuked by Russia in his reality. When you already change one thing for the story, you can change everything. And the reference to history becomes pointless because it's not a reference at all.
