I've tried to tighten joints with acrylic gloss varnish and, while it held itself in place, the second I tried to move the limb it'd end up slipping out. Stopped being a chore after I used acrylic matte varnish instead.
It's not nail polish so idk how the chemical composition and how it'll interact with plastic (especially since some kinds of nail polish will melt plastic to some extent, unlike acrylic paint) but yeah I also feel like gloss finishes make joints slippery and that you're not schizo
