Camers are literally a tool, a medium, to communicate something. Hobbyists don't understand this and obsess on the gear while they piddle about taking banal photos of nothing. A true artist or someone who has something to say simply chooses the medium, which sometimes might be a photograph, and communicates with it. This is completely lost on consumers with no lives or real opinions who just cargo cult taking photos hoping it gets them recognition or validation for the hundreds of hours of time and thousands of dollars they are wasting on the hobby.
