you sound low clueless (changing exposure compensation in settings???? cant do it in manual? exposure scroll bar? wtf) and have likely fucked something obvious up, so you can not be helped remotely. this is actually really common. 
sony cameras are designed by and for people with IQ scores in the 120s and above. the prices are kept high as to be prohibitive to wannabes. this fails and retards buy these purposefully complicated, professionals-only tools and think they suck because they can’t use them.
sony makes every single possible camera feature a setting because that is what long term professionals ask for. this makes them very confusing to retards.
to put it in your language, you bought a GSXR1000 when you should have bought a moped and you already crashed it.
try these in order:
Reset all the settings
Ask someone at best buy to fix it for you
Shoot in auto mode
Return it and buy a camera meant for tech illiterates like a fujifilm
