compartmentalization is how they make this stuff work conceptually. like I mentioned above, they make things overly complex as a form of gate keeping and also controlling who can use technology. Imagine If you or I could just build a computer from scratch like forging an axe head. imagine if we could build a new internet out of wood. the control wouldn't be there, and we wouldn't be second class citizens. Industrial society has been a disaster for the human race but not just for the reasons uncle Ted lined out. only in the last 100 or so years have they been able to get a strangle hold on tech to a point where fighting is nearly impossible.
