I'd get a female dog spayed (probably a little later than what they recommend) but I wouldn't get a male dog neutered.
Female dogs have some problem where if they reach a certain age and haven't had puppies their ovaries turn cancerous. Apparently it's common in the animal kingdom but I can't remember what it's called.
Also fuck cleaning up canine period blood. Birth control always has less side effects on females anyway.
