As much as I think Dorian Yates is an amazing freak of nature this kind of physique really damaged bodybuilding as a sport both in practice and the perception of the general public. It's always been a freak show to some extent but when this line was crossed the pursuit of classical aesthetics was lost and now dumb clueless people have been afraid to pick up a dumbbell because "they don't want to get bulky like those bodybuilders" like it's something that can just happen on accident.
